They looked pretty decent in my eyes when I first designed them ([link] and [link]), but that was almost 4 years ago. It's nothing new, I get fed up with my work very fast. Even now I can't say I'm fully satisfied.
Even though the top images are coloured, I don't want to confirm anything yet. I'll get back to it when it matters, I guess.
The most painful thing is that the quick, random drawings at the bottom are better than the top ones. Though, it's not completely random; for example, I actually wanted to make Edd's mother chubby at first. But I discarded the idea, as I had a hard time believing she'd be even slightly overweight, since she's always gone and busy, and, I guess, has an extremely healthy lifestyle. She's still Edd's mother. On the other hand, I was in no way dissatisfied with my previous design of Eddy's mother, but I ignored most of the hints given by the show when I first designed her, so no harm in making a few adjustments.
Nevertheless, it's hard to be canon, simply because there is no truth and there are no rules set by the show. We see some arms, a decent amount of silhouettes, and hear a few quick remarks from the characters about their parents, but it doesn't really make things easier. I can't even be sure if the adults' body sizes are being exaggerated/distorted by the characters and the fact they are children, or if they're really that frighteningly tall. The show just keeps doing it, and eventually you think you've got it all figured it out, but then something stupid happens, like Eddy's brother, and it destroys little logic there was. The guy is supposed to be an adult, but he just doesn't match the other adults.
The image of Eddy's family is the best example of the whole confusion that's going on: The show portrays the adults as half-giants, but Eddy's brother is only a head bigger than Ed, and then there's the furniture and objects in the show; that are all basically "child-sized". Look at Eddy's father's arm ([link]) and imagine a body attached to that; can such a man even fit through his own front door.
But, very well, let it be silly. It fits the show just fine. I declare Eddy's brother to be a midget. I made him slightly bigger here, otherwise I'm going to laugh my ass off. But it has to end at some point, and it shall look absolutely ridiculous. It already does.
Very good, I always wondered what they looked like. Though we did come close at some points.
I am curious as how you would depict Rolf's Grandmother, too. Seeing as how she apparently lived with him as well, and seemed to be a strong influence.

and nice touch showing the different idea versions of the parents.
how are fun the caricature!!!!
